We thought you might like to know who works at Hilltop Yarn Shop and what experience they bring to you. Here are a few brief introductions.
Annelie was taught by her mother to knit at age 3 in post-war Germany. She abandoned her craft during her teens and twenties while she obtained a degree in horticulture.
Annelie gets her greatest satisfaction combining colors and textures into different forms.  She enjoys teaching others a “Horst Schultz” technique known as “Muschelmuster.” The technique is a great way to use up your leftovers—nothing is wasted. Annelie also enjoys troubleshooting, she says, “I have not seen a problem that couldn’t be fixed, and not by just ripping it out and starting over.” Then, “really!” she says with a smile.

Roxanne
born in Ohio has been a Seattle native since 1975, is married with three children. Roxanne’s grandma taught her to knit and needlepoint as a young girl.

Felting, knitting Afghans and running several projects at once is Roxanne’s way to knit. She enjoys helping people find the perfect yarn, the perfect pattern, and hopes this hunt will help them create the perfect project.
Tamara is our resident left-handed, power picker. She comes to us with over 10 years of teaching experience. Her background is in teaching science and math to middle- and high-school students. Tami is remarkably patient and can work with anyone. Her color sense is impeccable and she has never met a pattern that she couldn't interpret. She likes to say that she will never be defeated by a project. Tami was taught to knit at the age of 8 but wasn't bitten by the fiber bug until she began teaching after college.
Wendee
's love affair with yarn started over five years ago during a chance visit to Hilltop Yarn. A few years later she learned how to knit and put her growing yarn stash to good use! By day, she is a production manager at a toy and game invention studio and when she's not knitting she enjoys fooling around with her sewing machine, tending her yard, cooking and spending time with her hubby and pals. She enjoys working part-time at Hilltop East - what a wonderful opportunity to meet such creative and fun people - colleagues and customers alike!

Julie graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and taught second grade. After spending the past 13 years home schooling her two children she decided to learn to knit. When Julie signed up for knitting classes at Hilltop Yarn East little did she know that she would eventually work here or that she’d become so addicted. Julie’s family now refers to her as the knitting nerd!
Teri
always was interested in crafts. When Teri was little, her mom had always encourage her to try out the different crafts from needlepointing, cross stitching, crocheting, to knitting. Teri didn't really take knitting seriously until my co-worker encourage me to take some knitting classes. Since then, Teri has been knitting here and there, making baby blankets for nieces and friends children, as well as sweaters and capelets.
