Knit Knacks 101:  Learn many different techniques for casting on and binding off. Learning several different types of cast on allows you to choose based on the effect you want to achieve. Some techniques give a firm, stable cast on edge while others yield a softer, more elastic cast on edge. Jazz up your next project with the perfect edge customized by you.

Knit Knacks 102:  Add shape to your knitting. In this succession, you will learn various ways to shape your knitting using increases, decreases, as well as, learn correct pattern lingo and the importance of proper placement for shaping your garment.

Knit Knacks 103:  Embellishing! Focus on different techniques, such as applied I-cord, duplicate stitch, embroidering, and adding beads and sequins to liven up your project. Bring two 5x5 sts bound off swatches, scrap yarn of your choice, and 3-4 contrast colors of yarn to learn what embellishing is all about. Fair Isle:  Knitting has a long history of combining more than one yarn to create an abundance of color throughout your garment.  Learn the proper technique of carrying, also called stranding, the yarns across as you knit.  While learning this multicolor technique you will also learn pattern and chart reading.

Entrelac: Using the Entrelac technique creates a textured diamond square that resembles a woven-strip basket. Introduction to Hairpin Lace: Beautiful shawls, wraps, baby blankets. Hairpin lace creates beautiful open fabrics that look complicated and impressive! The dirty little secret is that this technique is so simple, even a beginning crocheter or knitter can do it. Come learn the basics of creating a hairpin lace strip and an introduction to several techniques you can use to join strips. Saturday, April 5th ~ 1:30 - 4:30 pm ~ $35
Lace Knitting Project:  We will cover some of the tricks to help unravel the mysteries of lace knitting.  We'll focus on straightforward patterns, chart reading, being able to recognize stitch directionality, and the finishing techniques that will be indispensable as students continue their lace knitting journey.  Students will be able to choose their own yarn.  If they don't feel like taking up the ultra fine lace weight just yet... That's ok. We'll choose a fingering or even a sport weight that they like.  Lace is not about how tiny you can make it, it's about technique and making something beautiful that each student is proud of!

This duotone textile pattern creates a beautiful coin purse. Bohus Knitting: Bohus Knitting began in Sweden when the economic times were slow. Bohus is another form of knitting with color similar to Fair Isle. Used in the yoke of sweaters worked in the round.   Saturday, May 10 ~ 10:00 - 1:00 pm ~ $35.

Introduction to Knitting with Beads: Incorporate beads in your knitting. Becky B's motto is: When in Doubt, Add More Bling!!! Let's glitz it up, girls! Intro to Knitting with Beads will cover the predominant techniques called for in patterns that use beads. We'll play with pre-stringing, as well as, the crochet hook method.
