For some, it starts as a hobby: one knitting clothes for four daughters and hats for a husband. Then it becomes a passion: one questing after the latest fibers and colors, adapting patterns for individuality. Then it grows into a livelihood: one built on a foundation of family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, sisters, and husband.That’s my story and the beginning of Hilltop Yarn East where the desire is to be the most knowledgeable about fibers, to have what fiber artists need both in terms of materials and technique support, and to be a place where family is extended and where an atmosphere of home proves inspiring for the individual and for a flourishing creative community.
